Role of Middle class in Indian Nationalism

India witnesses the emergence of a large educated awakened middle class during the 19th century. The member of the middle-class was aware of the development going on in the world. They had absorbed the idea of Enlightenment.

The members of the Indian middle class could see that the British rule was obstructing the path of their progress and because of this, they became the torchbearer of Indian Nationalism.
