Magma is the molten or semi-molten natural substance that gives rise to all igneous rocks. It is of two types- Acidic magma, and Basic magma.

Following is the difference between Acidic magma and Basic magma

ACIDIC MAGMABASIC MAGMA
Acidic magma has a higher concentration of silica and less iron.Basic magma has a higher concentration of iron and less silica.
Lighter in colour.Darker in colour
It is highly thick/viscous. Hence flows only for a shorter distance before solidifying.Fluidic in nature. It flows quickly and covers a longer distance before solidifying.
Generally associated with violent eruptions and elevated landforms such as mountains.Generally associated with fissure eruptions and forms volcanic plateau/plains.
E.g. GraniteE.g. Basalt.
